Hi y’all, is anyone out there? Almost five months ago to the day, with a somewhat heavy heart, I announced that I no longer would be blogging about interior design and DIY projects. Three years of blogging, some major life changes and two moves made me want to step away from The Mustard Ceiling.
Over the past year, I have spent a lot of time growing other areas of my life (community, faith, holistic living, cultivating new friendships, graphic design). Focusing on other avenues has given me the opportunity to take a much needed break away from interior design and DIY, a break which I truly needed. However, sometimes you find a break is exactly what you need to revitalize a passion that is a deeply ingrained part of you, interior design and projects are that for me. It is a passion that I cannot ignore, one that I cannot walk away from long term, so here I am, starting a new renovation project!
In mid-February, I stumbled upon a little hidden gem of a property for sale in one of my favorite parts of town. I was not looking to purchase a home at the time. I was incredibly content focusing on other areas of my life, but you know how the story goes…I fell in love, made an offer and 3.5 loong months later, closed on it (June 4, 2014). I am so excited to be starting another renovation! My little gem needs a lot of TLC, but the potential is incredible, and I am up for the challenge of turning another house into my home.
I am still working out the details on how best to share the progress with you, but from the beginning knew that I wanted to incorporate blogging into the process. I would like to blog about interior design/DIY (progress) with you, but would also like to share my new passions as well. I am currently in the process of figuring out what that looks like in terms of blogging.
Please stay tuned as I work out the details. I hope you will join me for another big adventure as I slowly turn my new house into a home…stay tuned.
