Are you dying to redecorate your living room, renovate your kitchen, or just pick a new paint color among the millions on the market? After making many decisions about your new home, the idea of furnishing and decorating it may seem like a daunting task. During a global pandemic, many people are not comfortable with the idea of someone else coming into their home to do work; that is where the beauty of having a virtual interior designer comes in. If you think this option may be best for you, here are some tips on how to get your desired outcome with a virtual interior designer.
Since the interior designer will not physically be able to tour your home, you need to make sure that you provide them with high quality images or even videos. This will allow them to visualize your space and help you figure out what would work best.
Make sure that you have a general idea of what you are looking for. Whether it is Pinterest or some pictures you found in a home improvement magazine, you need to provide your interior designer with this valuable information. This is key in allowing the designer to get to know you, your style, and preferences quickly.
So many clients do not properly measure out the space of their home. This part is critical for the virtual interior designer. Since they cannot be there in person to do it themselves, clients need to take the time and precautions to do it correctly. Many designers have instructions provided on their websites to educate clients on how to provide accurate measurements. As states in the first tip, take as many pictures as possible to send to the designer. That way, if there is an obvious measurement mistake, the designer will quickly pick up on it and solve the problem.
To achieve the results that you are looking for you need to follow the design plan that the virtual interior designer provides. Everything was picked for a reason; to provide the best results for your space. From the whole-room plan, to the layout of the furniture, to the different color aspects, each element picked was to enhance your home. If you only carry through with parts of the design process, the room will not feel complete.
Some aesthetic choices may not look ideal on paper, or they may even be way out of your comfort zone but realize that’s okay. Hence why you hired a designer, to add that extra flair and unique style to your room. Trust that your designer will give you a beautiful finished space you can call home.
So many clients want bold, unique, and original designs in their home. Don’t wait for months until you feel comfortable letting someone in; complete the task now. Virtual interior designers are a great asset that guide you on your journey to create a space you will love for years.
